Matt is a staff visual journalist and editor at Cascade Public Media, the umbrella organization for Seattle's PBS-affiliate KCTS9 and non-profit news website Crosscut.com. He was previously a freelance photographer and photo editor with experience in broadcast, print and digital journalism.

A graduate of the Journalism program at San Francisco State University with an emphasis in Photojournalism,  where he worked as a magazine photo editor at the student run publication. In the past, Matt was also a photo editor with Microsoft for MSN News and helped launch the Bing News, Finance, and Sports applications on Windows 8 from Seattle, where he currently resides with his wife & dog. 

Matt's editorial work has appeared online and in print in various publications around the globe, some clients include Stern Magazine, NBC News, AARP Bulletin, Discovery Networks, The Wall Street Journal, Southern Poverty Law Center, GEO Publishing, High Country News, CNN, Getty Images, Reuters Pictures, Associated Press, Wired.com, and the Center for Investigative Reporting.

Some corporate photography clients include; Microsoft, Animal Planet, CenturyLink, Courtyard by Marriott, LeanIn at Getty Images, and Target.
